Join the Whole Sky community for a free screening of "The Last Ecstatic Days", a documentary which follows the final days in the life of a devoted yoga teacher and practitioner named Ethan Sisser. The film offers an opportunity to engage with life's biggest mystery from a yogic perspective, including concepts such as surrender, the importance of a spiritually steeped as well as a physically grounded yoga practice, and the importance of community while embarking along our personal yogic journeys.

The evening will include the film screening followed by discussion and Q&A with WSY yoga teacher Elizabeth Gross and local yoga teacher Michael Stein, who both knew Ethan Sisser personally and impacted both of their lives in profound ways. Chairs, blankets, and props will be provided for seating. If you'd like to bring your own seat, we welcome you to do so. The screening will be held on the first floor of the studio, which is wheelchair accessible. Capacity is limited, so reserve in advance.

Film Synopsis:

Ethan Sisser, a young man with terminal brain cancer, sits alone in his hospital room. When he starts livestreaming his death journey on social media, thousands of people around the world join to celebrate his courage. Still, Ethan envisions more – to teach the world how to die without fear. To do that, he needs to film his death. Honoring Ethan's wish, his doctor Aditi Sethi transports him to an idyllic house in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, North Carolina. What unfolds next is a story rarely glimpsed: how a community of strangers helps a young man die with grace. A sensory immersion into leaving the body, “The Last Ecstatic Days” reveals a man who will not let us forget him – even after he’s taken his final breath.
