If you’ve made it to this page, you’re probably pregnant and are looking to do everything you can to support yourself during and after your pregnancy.

The more you support yourself, the easier it is to navigate the process, as you understand that this is one of the most challenging physical times in a persons life.

Your body may be telling you to rest, but that voice may not be the easiest one to listen and respond to as of late.

Strengthening and empowering yourself is at the top of your list right now, but you may feel unclear about who to reach out to for holistic support for your pregnancy.

You may have been here before. Having already been through a pregnancy, you know how challenging the process of growing a new human being and birthing is. Honoring the portal that birth creates isn’t easy to do without support. You understand the importance of trusting your body and the process. It’s clear that your body has deeper needs and you’re doing everything you can to meet them.

Or, this may be your first pregnancy. You may feel chronically exhausted and stressed, and are just trying to deal with the body changes that are happening. Needs for eating and moving aren’t the same as they used to be, and you may be dealing with the many adjustments that come with your changing body.

You’re most likely incredibly aware of your body already. You’re already doing so much to show up for yourself, but the sensations aren’t so easy to process. Your desire to increase your support to cultivate your physical, as well as spiritual and emotional awareness right now, is very clear.

If you can relate to any of the above, please keep reading below to learn more about how I can support you and how it’s different than the type of help you may have received before.

You can go through this time with holistic physical and emotional support.

If you are ready to receive deeper care within a paradigm that respects all of you, I’m here.

My role as your bodywork practitioner

As your bodyworker, I will approach your physical health with a humble, gentle approach in order to identify how to offer support for your body at this point in time.

I am here to hear you, help you, and work with you by way of bodywork and herbal applications. My job is to hold space for you to process your pregnancy. I can support you to develop actual practices for rest through restorative movement, herbal applications, and self inquiry practices.

We will be working with your own understanding of your body, as well as any diagnosis or treatments from medical professionals you may have had. Your body is unique, so standard approaches to bodywork may need to be adjusted to address your unique needs. I am happy to work alongside your other healthcare providers to develop a bodywork program that is as safe and effective as possible for you.

Together, we can work to:

  • Make a plan for you to lighten up or carve out time in your schedule for rest during your pregnancy

  • Create positive routines and habits throughout the month, such as incorporate warming foods, beverages, compresses, and baths, and warm oil massage into your month

  • Create space for you to share your experiences and guide you into deeper self love and compassion for yourself in your current process of self care and healing. I will also offer you validation that your body is indeed asking you to slow down, and that listening to that voice is crucial, even if it seems counter to the cultural pressure for productivity you may be up against on a daily basis.

My main intention is to deeply listen to you, and provide you with optimal comfort and care by way of bodywork and herbal support. You can expect space within our sessions for your self reflections to be heard, as well as encouragement and support from me as your healing journey unfolds.

My practice is LGBTQIA+ friendly and is not heteronormative or mono-normative. Regardless of your sexual orientation, relationship status, relationship model, or sexual practices, I am here to help you.

What is Thai Yoga bodywork, anyway?

Thai Yoga Bodywork is a healing arts practice rooted in ancient yogic philosophy. Thai Yoga (Nuad Boran) is believed to have been developed by Buddhist monks in Thailand over 2,500 years ago. Thai Yoga can be thought of as a gentle form of assisted yoga. A session consists of postural release and gentle stretching, rhythmic rocking along the body’s main energy lines and pressure points, focused breathing, meditation, and somatic movement re-patterning to address the whole body-mind throughout the healing process. Thai yoga bodywork sessions provide a container for a slow and steady healing process to unfold within.

Since I have been offering Thai Yoga bodywork sessions beginning in 2012, I have come to especially love working with women in all stages of pregnancy. Providing care that brings forth the degree of relaxation and ease I have seen arise from these sessions is one of my greatest joys in life. I would be honored to work with you to access a sense of deep rest during this special and complex time of your life, when your sense of comfort and being cared for is essential.

What is your training, experience and philosophy regarding bodywork?

I began my Thai Yoga practice in 2012, and graduated from the SomaVeda® College of Natural Medicine: Thai Yoga Center’s 1028 hr Certified Thai Yoga Teacher (CYT) training program in 2015, and have been practicing this beautiful modality regularly ever since. I also have over 1,000 hours of formal training in both Yoga, Somatics and Mediation, through the Ashtanga Yoga of New Paltz (2012), the Embodied Flow School of Yoga (2015-2018), and the Inner Yoga Meditation Teacher Training Program led by David Harshada Wagner (2017-2018), all of which I incorporate into my Thai Yoga sessions. I also bring my formal training in herbalism with Dina Falconi (2017), and in depth experience incorporating herbal applications into my bodywork sessions thereafter, into our time together. I believe that allowing for focused time and space to deeply listen inward is a hugely important aspect to a nourishing pregnancy, and that herbs and yogic bodywork can support that process to unfold.

What herbal applications do you use in your sessions?

I utilize gentle, safe-for-pregnancy herbs, with the option for you to opt out if you are sensitive to herbs or prefer a non-aromatic bodywork experience. I use three forms of herbal application in my practice: herbal steam compresses, herbal infused oils, and herbal oil compresses. Herbal steam compresses are aromatic, soothing herbs are wrapped in cotton muslin, gently warmed with steam, and applied to areas of stress. The herbs release natural volatile oils while easing deep tensions held in the mind and body. Incorporating herbal steam compresses within your Thai yoga session combines the effects of a calming bath, restorative yoga, and bodywork into one experience. Soothing aromas from the steamed herbs allow the body to relax and unwind while absorbing the medicinal properties of herbs, many of which I harvested and processed myself. Herbal oil compresses are similar to herbal steam compresses, the difference being that herbs packed in oil are wrapped in cotton muslin and warmed prior to application. Herbal Infused oils are applied to the whole body. The infused oil itself contains properties which also stimulate the lymph, as well as help deeply relax the nervous and musculoskeletal systems. Herbal body oiling within the Thai Yoga practice gives an extra boost to the immune system, nourishes the skin, and brings the whole body into a deep state of relaxation. I infuse local and organic oils with herbs, many of which I harvested and processed myself.

What are your hours and location?
